Day 5-BAC-Fredericksburg, TX-Friday ride-LBJ’s Texas White House-48.2 miles with 2068 feet of elevation.

Editor’s special: I took this one’s picture yesterday and did not include it. What was I thinking.

Another special editor’s note: I had breakfast at lunch at Sunset Grill yesterday, OMG. 3 perfect over medium farm fresh eggs, like the eggs a friend gives you when they raise chickens, 3 strips of thick cut bacon, perfect breakfast potatoes, cat head, BIG, biscuit with strawberry preserves and Katz organic coffee. There you go Gib!

It was really cool this morning and there was some misting off and on. I met the two local riders that were riding, the other day and we moved along a ways. Super new ENVE bike. Super nice guys.

There is a state park and a Nat’l park. Like the number one farm road designation. It doesn’t hurt being president.

LBJ and Lady Bird family gravesites.

Picture in the recreated home of LBJ’s birthplace.

Air Force “one half”

Cool museum.

LBJ’s Texas White House, not open now
Junction school

Weather turned nicer on the way back home. Great ham and Swiss cheese sandwich on marble rye with German brown mustard from Opa’s Smoked Meats. Gib. Peace out Tres dog

  1. So cool! My kids and I were there in 2014. I believe those animals in a previous post are Texas Longhorns, the name of the UTA football team. Love all the food posts! Gib!

  2. Tres, this was one of my favorite daily reports of this ride! 1st of all, I hope ‘cat head’ in breakfast was a typo! I loved the Air Force ‘One Half’! So, cool that you were able to go on board. Also, who knew LBJ had a jukebox? Also, was that his Corvette? Also, was that his childhood schoolroom?

    Great pictures.
