I received a great picture of a longhorn. Photo credit to John Ilenin. 2016 rider and nice guy.
A good sleep and away I went with the fellow I have been riding with the last week or so, Rich Niewald and his wife Chrysa. They are RAGBRAI veterans from outside of St. Louis. Rich is a great rider and has a big motor. His wife had gotten food poisoning and was not riding today. We seemed to ride possessed today with a fairly reliable tailwind for our 89 miler. We flew to the first rest stop where a local had befriended the tour in 2010 and would have coffee and donuts, Gene the coffee man. He was so nice.
The picnic lunch was at a historic site at where the original Baylor had been.
We set out for Navasota for the next SAG at a DQ. Had the world’s biggest root beer float. Had 20 more miles after the DQ. We passed through historic Anderson, Texas and another historic courthouse.
We rolled into Mexican Hill Ranch to my package of wheels and the great hosts, Erny and Doris.
The wheels had been changed out. Thanks Mariella.
The pictures are so good. Makes me want to take a road trip to Texas. Hope you keep that tailwind for the rest of your trip..
Hope you new wheels make you ride better – Peace

Now those are some wheels. Ride them like you stole them.
